World Blood Donor Day – June 14 2021
Donating one unit of blood can save the lives of 3 people.
World Blood Donor Day celebrates the millions of people worldwide who give their blood on a voluntary, unpaid basis.

All centres follow very strict Covid-19 protocols.
World Blood Donor Day – Your Blood Can Saves Lives.
Only 1% of South Africans are registered blood donors. As a unit of blood only lasts 42 days, regular blood donations are needed to maintain adequate stock. Donors can give blood as often as every eight weeks. You do not have to wait for World Blood Donor Day to make a difference.
Are You A Business Or Community Leader?
As a business or community leader you could organise a blood drive to help out with new donors. This will go a long way in topping up South Africa’s blood reserves. Book A Blood Drive Here.
Who can donate blood?
- You weigh a minimum of 50 kgs or more.
- Ages of between 16 and 75 years old.
- You have not donated blood in the last 56 days.
- Your blood haemoglobin level is 12.5 g/dL or above.
- You live a healthy lifestyle.
As a new donor you will go through a screening test to ensure that your haemoglobin levels & blood pressure are within the safe range to make a donation. You can make a difference on World Blood Donor Day.
