The MedVital Hospital Plan also includes cover for day-to-day expenses like doctor’s visits, prescription medicine, and contraception.
To unlock additional Care Extender Benefits, members simply complete annual health and screening tests. In addition to the day-to-day benefits MedVital offers unlimited hospital cover for:
- Trauma that necessitates hospitalisation,
- In-hospital childbirth,
- Specialised radiology (Angiography, MRI, and CT imaging),
- Treatment of life-threatening conditions, includes 271 PMB and 26 chronic conditions,

How to activate the MedVital Care Extender Benefits?
You can activate the MedVital Care Extender Benefits in the MediHelp Member Zone by registering for HealthPrint, Medihelp’s free wellness initiative. Annual health and screening tests can be carried out at Dis-Chem or Clicks, and the results will be automatically uploaded to HealthPrint.
How do I get pre-authorization from Medihelp MedVital?
All hospital admissions must be pre-approved with MedVital, and emergency admissions must be approved on the first workday following the admission. Log in to Medihelp’s Member Zone to quickly and easily pre-authorize, or register your emergancy hospital admittance. What additional Maternity Benefits does the MedVital hospital plan offer?
In addition to the regular benefits, MedVital provides additional benefits for both the mother and baby. The MedVital Hospital Plan offers ten antenatal and post-natal consultations with a gynaecologist, GP, or midwife. Two antenatal and post-natal consultations with a dietitian, lactation specialist or for antenatal classes. Two 2D ultrasound scans are also included. Babies under 2 years get two consultations at a paediatrician, GP or ear, nose & throat specialist. Children up to 7 years get standard child immunisation.
