The MediPlus Prime option is an ideal medical aid for middle and high-income families. Medshield MediPlus Prime members enjoy unlimited in-hospital and daily out-of-hospital cover. The Mediplus Compact plan requires the compulsory use of a hospital network, nominating a Primary Care Physician, and use of the Family Physician to Specialist referral process.
What Maternity Benefits does Medshield MediPlus Prime offer?
Mediplus Prime Maternity Benefits will be offered during pregnancy, and in-hospital and out of hospital expenses are covered at birth and after birth. Prior authorization must be obtained, and benefits per pregnancy will be subject to the General Annual Ceiling, unless otherwise stated.
How do I apply for Chronic Medicine with Medshield MediPlus medical aid?
If you have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, you will need to take medication long term. It is important to record your chronic medications so your medication payments can be covered by your MediValue chronic medication benefit, and not your per day benefit or savings .
What are MediPlus Prime Out-of-Hospital Benefits?
The Medshield MediPlus Prime plan offers cover for out-of-hospital services from family doctors visits and specialist consultants. Medications are covered at 100% of the Single Exit Price (SEP), subject to use of the Medshield pharmacy network and managed care practices. Your daily limit is assigned based on the size of your family.
